GUESTBOOK - LIVRE D’OR

GAIA IS A GODDESS- powerful, centered and beautiful. I love her honest and exhuberant paintings. And I love her! She is exciting to watch and the future is in her hands.

The wide open, undulating curves of Mother Earth on either side of these nomads beckons us to come right into the painting. Looking at this reminds me of driving across South Dakota and Wyoming in early summer, before summer's heat has bleached the grasses golden. The wide open sky above smiles upon them, just like the Dakota skies around Sun Dance time. It may sound sentimental but I'm sure that in previous lives I was a nomad, because such places as this stir a hunger in my heart - I want to be there, astride my horse or camel, bells tinkling, wind in my hair, sun and rain on my face.

dear Gaia how lovely to get your paintings! They touched me deeply and helped to really re affirm how I see the Divine Feminine. they were like a lovely blessing coming my way -thank you. the Vagina/Sheelagh na gigh is very powerful - reminded me of the huge and ancient stone circles I have just come back from visiting in southern England at Avebury and I loved the triptych of the virgin, whore and sinner - such a disempowering ways to view the feminine and such fear of the Feminine that as you say is Christianity's view. I also enjoyed reading your writings on the three paintings. I'd love to incorporate Art into the Mouth of the Cave and dancing - I'd like it to be more of a whole experience - word, sound, art music , dance and have a shamanic aspect..... the ideas are forming...
thank you for sending me your lovely and powerful art.

your art you are really pushing the boundries with some of your paintings vagina unfortunately vagina is strange word lacking in poetic verve and the word penis is as pathetic which means we as a society are already faced with obstacles few talk about sex about sexuality instead we talk about tits and ass so not surprising that images of vaginas are disconcerting to most seems like we have a long way to go before we find our bare feet on Earth

Love your new paintings; quite provocative ! By the way, did you ever see the DaVinci Code ? Not that the movie was that good, but an interesting insight into how the early Christian Church was so frightened by the possibility that Mary Magdalene was Jesus's wife and the only disciple that actually 'got' his teachings (check out the 'Gospel of Mary'). Hence they had to make up a story that brought her down; i.e. the whore. Interesting stuff !
Ron Young, Canada
I like your vagina very much, as a fellow artist of course!

Your art is one of the most delightful surprises of my day. I am passionately moved by "Wild Dancing" but am really impressed with your conception. Thanks for the view.

"Life Celebration" is only one of Gaia's purely "heart-grown" expressions of how she sees the family. I feel she has done a truly beautiful representation of the love of man & woman parallelled and interconnected to the cycles of the moon and nature. The purity of joy expressed makes me smile and warms my soul every time I see "Life Celebration".
