Hildegard Von Bingen was a remarkable woman, a nun, from the Middle Ages. She particularly wrote the most beautiful angelic music that expressed the depth and meaning of her life.
This painting is of her, up before dawn, silently watching the day awakening as the sun rises. Everything is quiet as is her mind and her being.
I was inspired to paint this scene at a meditation retreat. My husband, Dolphin, wrote a wonderful song for Hildegard and some of his lyrics completed the painting.
